Vent: My trip to Trader Joe's in Denver made me rethink my grocery budget

I went to the Trader Joe's on 17th Street last Saturday and noticed how much their prices have jumped. Like, their frozen burritos went from $2.99 to $3.99 in just a few months. It got me thinking about how even the 'cheap' stores are getting expensive, so I'm back to coupon clipping and bulk cooking. Has anyone else seen their savings shrink at certain stores lately?

I remember when I first started going to Trader Joe's back in the early 2000s, you could get a whole bag of chocolate chips for about a dollar and a half. Now those same bags are pushing four bucks at the store near my house in Arvada. It's like every time I turn around, something else has gone up by a quarter or fifty cents. Makes me wonder if the days of calling it a budget friendly store are long gone.
