Took me 8 months to realize I was overpaying for my phone plan by $30 a month

I kept putting off checking my bill because I figured it was fine, but after a slow night shift I finally dug into the details and saw I was paying for unlimited data I never use. Has anyone else found a hidden fee or overcharge that took way too long to spot?

It is wild how easy it is to just let those small charges slide month after month. I think it's part of a bigger pattern where companies count on us being too busy or too tired to actually look at the fine print. They make it just hard enough to cancel or change something that most people give up. Did this change how you check other bills now, like for insurance or streaming services?

Too tired to actually look at the fine print" - that's me every single night. I swear my brain just checks out after 8 PM, and that's exactly when all those sneaky charges slip by. It's like my subscription to "Premium Lawn Care Tips" I never signed up for... somehow got charged for 6 months before I noticed. Now I do this thing where I set a calendar reminder every few months to just scroll through all my bank statements with a coffee in hand, looking for anything fishy. Still haven't caught everything though. I just found a $3.99 "membership fee" from some app I downloaded once and forgot about. That one stung because it's been running for like a year.
