Dropped $180 on a meal kit subscription thinking it would save money, and I'm still mad about it
Between the $12 per serving price and all the produce that showed up wilted in my Dallas apartment, I figured out I was paying almost double what my normal grocery run costs, so has anyone found a meal prep setup that doesn't eat half your budget?
Been there man, dropped about $150 on one of those boxes last spring and half the zucchini was mush by day three. The per serving math never works out once you add in the stuff you still have to buy at the store (oil, spices, bread, all that). Best thing I found was just doing a big Sunday cook with chicken, rice, and roasted veggies from Aldi, comes out to like $3 a meal. Takes maybe two hours but beats paying restaurant prices for sad carrots.
