Shoutout to my coworker Gina for a cheap dinner trick
Overheard Gina at the break room say she feeds her family of 4 on $60 a week using a big bag of rice and frozen veggies from Aldi. That stuck with me because I was spending like $80 just on myself for takeout. So I tried her method last week, made a huge stir fry with chicken thighs and rice, cost me $12 total and lasted 4 dinners. Has anyone else found a single ingredient that cuts your grocery bill way down?

Noticed the same with beans and lentils. One cheap base changes everything.

Did you catch that report on NPR about how swapping beans for half the meat in recipes saves money and fiber? It stuck with me because I already do that with chili and tacos.
