My neighbor swears by canned beans for cheap meals, but I think dry beans are the real money saver.
He spent $12 on canned beans for chili last week, while I made the same amount from a $2 bag of dry beans. It takes a bit more time, but the savings are huge. Which side are you on for saving cash?

Is this really a hill to die on? Both ways feed you for cheap, so just pick what works for your schedule. It's not that serious.

My old roommate and I had this same argument every grocery trip lol. Dry beans win for me because a five pound bag costs less than four bucks and lasts months. I get what foster.dylan is saying about time, but soaking them overnight is zero effort. The real trick is cooking a huge batch and freezing some for later.
