Grocery store switch saved me $45 a week after 3 months of high bills

Last winter I was hitting $120 every week at Publix for just me and my kid. Felt like I was throwing money away on basics like bread and eggs. Then a coworker told me to try Aldi across town. First trip I spent $75 and got the same stuff plus extra. Now I plan my meals around what they have cheap each week. Has anyone else found a store that just works better for their wallet?

Man, tell me about it. I did the same thing but with a weird twist - I started going to the local Asian grocery store for produce and spices. The cilantro there is like 50 cents a bunch instead of two bucks. And I found out they sell big bags of jasmine rice for what I used to pay for the tiny box at the regular store. Now I'm cooking way more stir fry and curry stuff that I never tried before just cause the ingredients are cheap. It's wild how one change can snowball into a whole new way of eating.

Holy crap, 50 cents for cilantro? That's insane. @mark_lane, I would have never thought to check an Asian market for that kind of deal. I've been paying damn near three bucks for a tiny bundle that goes bad in two days. Makes me wonder what else I'm getting ripped off on at the regular supermarket.
