Showerthought: a kid at the Springfield library con told me my $12 cardboard sword was better than his $200 one
I was at the Springfield library con in October, and this 14 year old kid in full armor stopped me to ask how I built my sword from foam board and a pool noodle. He told me he spent $200 on his 3D printed set and it cracked the first time he sat down. That got me thinking about how much of this hobby is just problem solving with junk instead of buying the kit. What's the cheapest thing you've built that held up better than the expensive version?
