I saw a cosplay girl on YouTube test this exact thing last year. She had two cheap synthetic wigs, wore one and messed with it all day, left the other totally alone. The one she left alone actually held up okay for a few wears. But here is the catch, it still got tangled at the nape and the ends went frizzy just from rubbing on her shoulders and clothes. So yeah, not touching it helps, but "fine" is doing a lot of work in that sentence. You were right to argue the other side, cheap fiber is cheap fiber no matter how still you sit.
