Shoutout to the broker who actually answered the phone during the March meltdown
Last March when everything was tanking, I called my broker's support line at 7am and got a real human in under 2 minutes. She walked me through why my stop losses were triggering early on that gap down and helped me rebalance before the noon dip. My other account at a bigger firm put me on hold for 40 minutes then emailed a generic FAQ link. That one call saved me about $1,800 in panic selling, so I moved half my positions over. That call probably paid for itself a hundred times over, right? What did she say about the stop loss gap that clicked it into place for you? I feel like most people just get a scripted apology and a link to some PDF nobody reads, so finding someone who actually explains the mechanics is rare. Did she give you a specific way to handle gaps in the future, or was it more about rebuilding confidence in the moment? Just curious if you walked away with a real strategy or if it was more about having a human ear when the market was screaming.
