Overheard a guy at a Phoenix library say he picked his broker off one YouTube thumbnail, and it hit too close to home
I was killing time at the Burton Barr library in Phoenix when this guy told his buddy he signed up with a broker because the guy's thumbnail had a green arrow and a beach photo. I did almost the same thing with my first forex account in March, and it cost me $400 in spreads before I looked up the license number. Now I check a broker's regulators on NFA and FCA before I put in a single dollar. How do you all screen a broker before opening an account?
Did the green arrow get you too, or was it the beach photo? I blew $400 on spreads with a broker I found from a flashy YouTube ad before I ever thought to check if they were even registered. Now the NFA and FCA sites are the first tabs I open, and if the license doesn't check out I'm gone in ten seconds.
