Old level I dug out of my uncle's shed was dead on, my $90 digital was off by a hair

Cleaning out my uncle's place outside Pittsburgh last weekend and found his old 4 ft spirit level from the 70s. Took it to a job Monday just to mess around and checked it against my digital level on a long wall. The old one was perfect, but the digital showed 0.2 degrees off on the same run. Guys on the site all took turns checking their own gear after that, two other levels had the same issue. Anyone else ever trust a beat up hand me down over a new tool and have it win?
