My boss wanted fast work on a wall but the bricks were damp

We had a big job to finish and the foreman said to use the bricks even though they got wet from rain. I knew it could cause problems later with the mortar not setting right. I told him we should wait, but he said time was money. How do you guys handle it when speed fights with doing things the right way?
