Mortar mix went bad mid-wall, spotted it after 5 courses in Toledo

Grab a fresh bag from the back of the pallet at the yard, the front ones sit in weather and the Portland can clump up. I had to bust out 4 feet of face brick last Thursday because the stuff wouldn't set right, anyone else check bag dates before loading up?
