TIL my neighbor's 'magic' tomato trick actually stunted my plants
He told me to bury banana peels under every transplant for potassium, so I did that with my six new 'Sun Gold' seedlings. After a month, they were half the size of my other tomatoes and the leaves looked pale. I dug one up and the peels were just a slimy, moldy mess right on the roots. I think they rotted instead of breaking down fast enough. Has anyone else had a specific kitchen scrap tip totally backfire?
