Bought a $200 "smart" soil sensor system and it was useless
Last spring I dropped $200 on a set of six Bluetooth soil sensors from a company called HortiTech, thinking it would take the guesswork out of watering my vegetable beds. The sensors kept losing connection to my phone, and the app was so buggy it would show a moisture reading of "0" even when the soil was clearly wet after a rain. After three weeks of messing with it, I tossed them in a drawer and went back to just sticking my finger in the dirt. Has anyone else had better luck with a particular brand of soil sensors, or is this whole category of tech just not ready yet?

Man, that sucks, I've been there with expensive garden gadgets that just don't deliver. It's so frustrating when you spend real money hoping for something to make things easier and instead it just adds more problems. Did you ever try reaching out to their customer support or just gave up on them completely?

Three hundred bucks for a sprinkler and you're talking about reaching out to support? Seems like a lot of drama over something that probably just needs a new battery or something, @cora_martinez.
