PSA: Rearranged a bookshop's window display in Portland and the owner thanked me
I was killing time at a shop on Hawthorne while my wife tried on boots next door, and the window display had a mystery novel faced out with its title hidden behind a stack of travel guides, so I went in and asked the owner if I could fix it. She said sure, and 20 minutes later we had swapped 14 books around and sold three of them before I left, which felt like a weird little win. Do other shop owners actually want customers messing with their displays, or did I just get lucky with a very relaxed person?
