My book club buddy's confession about Dostoevsky made me rage quit a classic
Last week my neighbor Mike admitted he never finished Crime and Punishment either, just read the Wikipedia summary and faked his way through a college paper on it. That hit different because I slogged through 400 pages of guilt and gaslighting before tossing it on the nightstand, feeling like a failure. We both agreed the dude needed a therapist, not 600 more pages of inner monologue. Anyone else ditch a supposed 'masterpiece' after someone else quietly admitted they did too, or am I just allergic to Russian brooding?
