Just realized I used to quit books around page 50 without thinking about it

Honestly, I used to do the same thing all the time. What finally worked for me was forcing myself to get to page 100 before I let myself quit. I found that a lot of books just take a bit to find their rhythm, and page 50 was barely scratching the surface. Ngl, some of my favorite reads were ones I almost dropped around that point. Now I give everything a fair shot past the first few chapters.

Ha! This reminds me of a buddy who swore off a novel at page 60 and then his girlfriend finished it and he had to hear her rave about it for weeks, so he grudgingly picked it back up and ended up loving it, just like you said about giving it to page 100, @blairsanchez.
