A librarian in Akron asked why I was forcing myself through book 3, and it changed how I pick what to read
I was complaining to her about a 600 page fantasy novel I had been dragging through for 3 weeks, and she asked a simple question: do I actually want to know what happens next? I sat there for a second and realized the answer was no, I just felt bad about quitting. So now I read the first 50 pages and if I am not hooked, I put it back on the shelf with no guilt at all. I've dropped 14 books this year and found 3 that I finished in 2 days each. Does anyone else use a page limit rule, or do you just quit whenever the feeling hits?
