Vent: my workshop fan blew sawdust into my book press at the county fair demo

I was showing binding at the Springfield craft fair last Saturday and the industrial fan someone borrowed from the booth next door sent a fine coat of dust right into my open press and all over my freshly glued spine, so now I always cover the press with a clean cloth before I even start cutting paper, has anyone else had a demo setup ruined by something as dumb as airflow?
