Just swapped from a 4.5-inch grinder to a 5-inch for bevel prep on 1-inch plate

The extra half-inch made a huge difference in speed and control, got the job done in half the time. Anyone else find a specific tool upgrade that was a total game changer for a common task?

Interesting! Did you have to change your technique at all with the bigger wheel, or was it just a straight swap and go?

Man, I read that exact thing on a welding forum, bigger wheels really do eat through plate.
