Hot take: Catan is actually a bad game for most groups

Tracked our group's plays over 6 months and found 8 out of 10 games ended with someone rage-quitting over dice rolls. The randomness just kills the fun for casual players, but everyone acts like it's the gold standard. Anyone else ever actually count the salt levels in their own group?

Dice rolls are brutal in that game... we had a guy flip the board once after rolling three 12's in a row against him. Now we just stick to games with less random luck.

honestly the dice gods giveth and taketh away lol maybe that guy just has really bad luck irl and your group dodged a bullet if he ragequits after three 12s.
