Question about fixing a group photo where everyone's faces are smudged
I took a photo at my sister's wedding last Saturday with my phone and somehow every single person's face came out looking like a blurry mess. The lighting was fine, I wasn't moving, but the whole group of 12 people just looks like smudges. I tried the sharpen tool in my free editing app and it made the noise worse. Is there a way to fix this without buying a whole new editing program, or is this photo just doomed?

Man that stinks, I feel for you. A buddy of mine had this exact thing happen with his graduation group photo. He spent like two hours trying every free filter and sharpening tool he could find and it just made everyone look like they had weird digital measles. Eventually he just gave up and turned the whole thing black and white, and somehow the blurriness became way less noticable. Not a perfect fix but he said it actually looked kinda artsy once he adjusted the contrast a bit. Maybe try messing with the grain too, sometimes adding a tiny bit of texture can mask the smudgy parts. It won't look like a professional shot but you might be able to save it enough for a small print or something.

300 shots and not one where someone isn't blinking.
