Can we talk about how I shot blurry pics at my cousin's wedding in Tulsa for 2 years
I used to shoot every family event with my phone on full auto and just hope for the best, which meant about 8 out of 10 shots came out soft, especially indoors at receptions. Two years of this, including my cousin's wedding in Tulsa where half the dance floor pics were a total mess, and I finally got fed up. What changed my mind was a photographer friend who told me to stop fighting the light and just bump my shutter speed up to at least 1/125 for anything with people moving. I started tapping to focus on a face first, then holding still for a beat before I hit the button, and my keep rate jumped to maybe 7 out of 10 in one weekend. Turns out most of my blur was just me stabbing the shutter too fast and letting the camera pick a slow speed in dim rooms. Anyone else switch to manual shutter speed for indoor stuff and see a big jump, or do you just crank the ISO and let it ride?
