Had to choose between a new anvil or fixing my truck's brakes last week
Went with the anvil, then my truck rolled into a ditch trying to get to the hardware store. What's the dumbest trade-off you've ever made for the shop?

My uncle once skipped buying a new furnace for his house to fund a complete engine rebuild on his 1972 Ford pickup. He spent that whole winter wearing a coat inside while that truck sat perfect and unused in his freezing garage. The pipes burst in February and cost triple what the furnace would have. Sometimes we fix the toy and break the tool we actually live with.
