We were shelving returns on a Tuesday when she closed the cover and said Nick and Amy "deserve each other" like that was the point. I argued for 20 minutes that a creepy couple staying married on purpose is the opposite of a happy ending, and she just shrugged and walked off with her cart. It bugs me because I honestly can't tell if she was messing with me or if she really read it that way. Has anyone here ever had a friend explain an ending so backwards that you questioned your own reading?
