A librarian in Tulsa bet me a coffee that the ending would confuse me, and I owe her five bucks
I finished a paperback from a library sale rack about three nights ago, right at the end of my shift, and the last page just stops. No epilogue, no wrap up, the main guy is mid sentence and then the book is done. My friend Dana, who works at the branch in Tulsa, warned me about it back in March. She said straight up, do not expect answers, the author leaves you hanging on purpose. I figured she was just being dramatic because she reads like four books a week. Turns out she was dead right, and I sat in my car in the lot for a good ten minutes trying to figure out if I missed a page or if the printer messed up. Now I owe her a coffee and I am not even mad, but I need help here. Has anyone run into a book that just quits like that, and is there a name for it so I can look them up before I start one?
