Skipped the open adoption agreement, best paperwork choice I made

Everyone pushed me to sign a yearly visit plan with my son's parents, but after 4 years of letters instead, I found the distance let me heal without the awkward holiday pressure. Has anyone else turned down contact terms and later felt it gave everyone more room to breathe?
