TIL a simple chart made our family show binge much easier to follow
I was watching 'This Is Us' with my spouse and we kept mixing up the characters across different timelines. We made a basic family tree on a notepad and kept it by the couch, and it really cleared things up. How do you handle shows with complicated family stories?

Have you tried other ways to keep track besides the notepad? We got a small whiteboard for our living room wall and it's a game changer for those super messy family dramas. For a really big show with tons of characters, I once made a simple spreadsheet on my laptop to track who was related to who. It sounds like a lot but it totally stops the confusion so you can just enjoy the story.

A spreadsheet for character relations? @allen.zara that's wild, I'd lose my mind setting that up. But fr if it stops the confusion maybe it's worth it.

Doesn't all that planning just suck the fun out of watching a show? Half the joy is getting lost in the story and piecing things together yourself. Remember trying to follow 'Game of Thrones' without a guide? That chaos made water cooler talk way more interesting. Setting up charts turns a relaxing hobby into homework. Why not just let the confusion add to the mystery and talk it out with friends instead?
