Question about sticking with a show that drags on

I used to force myself through every episode of a series no matter what, but after bailing on season 4 of The Walking Dead halfway through last month, I now drop shows the second they lose my interest, has anyone else gotten pickier about finishing things?

Did you catch that article where someone called The Walking Dead a "dead show walking" and said season 4 was basically a filler fest for the actors' paychecks? That kind of put things in perspective for me, like why waste time on something that feels like homework. I figure life's too short to watch stuff that doesn't grab you, and dropping a show early just opens up room for something better.

Hold on, I gotta push back a little on that "dead show walking" article. Season 4 of The Walking Dead actually had some pretty solid episodes, like the one with the Governor and the prison battle. Calling it a "filler fest" is a bit harsh, even if the show did drag in spots. I think people just got tired of the same cycle of finding a safe place and then losing it. But yeah, I agree with your main point - no reason to force yourself through a show that feels like a chore.
