Hot take: The Wire is way better than Breaking Bad

I binge watched both back to back last year and The Wire felt more real to me. Breaking Bad had great moments but The Wire's Baltimore setting and the way it connected the drug game to politics and schools just hit different. Anyone else think Breaking Bad gets too much hype?

That's right, The Wire showed the whole system while Breaking Bad was just one man's story.

Read something about David Simon saying the same thing basically, that Breaking Bad was a character study while The Wire was supposed to be about the city as a whole.

Man I remember watching Breaking Bad week to week with my buddy who worked at a methadone clinic, and he kept yelling at the screen about how inaccurate the whole thing was compared to his job lol.
