Vent: my buddy at the shop made me rethink how I bleed brakes
I was talking to this old mechanic named Jerry at the shop downtown, and he goes 'you're rushing the lever pump part.' He said to wait 45 seconds between pumps instead of just going fast. Tried it on a Shimano road setup and the lever felt solid for the first time. Anyone else heard about this trick?

Yeah I read something similar on a bike forum once, waiting helps the fluid settle.

Oh wow that totally reminds me of this time my neighbor tried to fix his lawnmower and just left it sitting in the garage for two days! He said the gas needed to settle too, which I thought was crazy but then it actually started right up. Sometimes I think we overcomplicate stuff when the simple answer is just to wait a bit. It's like when you're cooking and you let meat rest, you know? Same kind of thing I guess.
