Burned $150 on a wheel truing stand that wobbled more than my wheels
I bought a cheap truing stand about 8 months ago to save a few bucks, and it turned out the calipers were off by almost 2mm on the left side. Every wheel I "fixed" came back to the bench within a week, and I couldn't figure out why until I checked it against a known good wheel from a customer's bike. Ended up eating the cost of two re-trues and now the stand sits in the corner of my garage in Portland as a reminder. Wondering if any of you have a stand you trust that doesn't break the bank, or is a used Park the only way to go? Curious what guys here use when money is tight but you still need accuracy.
