My old offset smoker's firebox door rusted clean off mid-cook
I was doing a pork butt for a family thing last Sunday when the whole hinge side just gave way, sending the door clattering onto my patio. I had to rig up a piece of scrap sheet metal with some baling wire to keep the heat in long enough to finish. Has anyone else had a firebox fail like that, and is it worth trying to weld a new one on?

Honestly @ninaw88, I get that it sounds funny but a runaway grill causing a traffic jam feels like a stretch. Like, unless it was some massive commercial one, a home grill rolling downhill probably wouldn't block a whole road for long. Tbh, I bet the story got exaggerated for clicks.
