Switched from clippers over comb to freehand fading and my chair time went from 45 mins to 28
I been cutting for 9 years and always did the clipper over comb thing for fades cause thats how I was taught. Two weeks ago my fellow barber Danny at the shop in Portland showed me how he does freehand and I was skeptical at first. After 3 days of practicing on my regulars I got it down and now I'm saving close to 17 minutes per cut. That adds up to like 4 extra heads a day on Saturdays which is another $140 in my pocket. The blend is way cleaner too, no more lines where the comb edge catches. How long did it take you guys to get comfortable with freehand when you first made the switch?
