Dropped $400 on a clipper sharpening setup and it cut worse than my $30 stones
I run a two chair shop in Akron and I got talked into a fancy rotary sharpening machine 5 months ago. The rep swore I'd never send blades out again and I'd save around $600 a year on shipping. Fast forward to now and I've ruined 4 pairs of Andis masters because the thing burns the teeth if you breathe on it wrong. I went back to my old flat stones this week and got a better edge in 10 minutes than that machine ever gave me. I'm out $400 plus the cost of 2 replacement blades, so call it $520 gone. Has anyone else had luck with a sharpener that doesn't eat clippers, or should I just go back to mailing mine out?
