Tried that 'no-knead' bread recipe everyone swears by and my kitchen looked like a flour bomb went off

Honestly, I was super skeptical because the dough looked like a wet mess when I mixed it last night. I followed the recipe exactly, using 500 grams of flour and leaving it for 18 hours. This morning I went to shape it and it just stuck to everything, my hands, the counter, a towel. Ngl, I had to scrape half of it off the bowl with a spatula. Has anyone else had this happen and actually gotten a decent loaf out of it?
