I disagree that stand mixers are the only way to make good bread dough

My KitchenAid motor burned out two weeks ago while I was trying to mix a double batch of sourdough. Everyone online acts like hand kneading is some impossible chore. But honestly? I've made three loaves since then doing it by hand and the texture is way better. The crust came out crunchier too. Maybe I was overmixing before. Has anyone else noticed their bread improved after ditching the machine?

Burned out a motor on a double batch of sourdough? That's a pretty heavy load, but most stand mixers can handle that if you're not pushing it on high. Hand kneading is fine for a hobby loaf or two, but lets not pretend it's always better because of one bad experience with a machine.

Bought a cheap mixer that gave out on a triple batch of bagels and it totally flipped my thinking, @the_nancy. Ngl I used to swear by the machine but now I hand knead more often just for the reliability.
