Unpopular opinion: my neighbor's 40 year old chain link fence outlasted my 6 month old cedar privacy fence
My neighbor Ray came over while I was staring at a sagging gate post and said he has never replaced a single panel since he put that fence up in 1984. Mine cost $3,200 and already has two posts leaning after one wet spring in Nashville, which makes me wonder if I got sold on looks over function. Anyone here actually happy with their wood fence past the 5 year mark, or did I just do it wrong?

Oh man, welcome to the club. My cedar fence started warping before I even finished staining it, and my dog found a gap in like week two. Maybe we both just got unlucky, or maybe wood fences are secretly a scam and nobody told us.
