My neighbor told me to skip the gravel base for my shed, and I'm glad I didn't listen
He insisted a few pavers on the dirt would be fine for my 8x10 shed. I went with a full 4-inch compacted gravel base instead, and after two Michigan winters, it hasn't moved an inch. Anyone else get bad advice they're happy they ignored?

My uncle tried to tell me the same thing for my 10x12. Honestly, you need that gravel to handle the freeze and thaw cycles. Your shed is going to last way longer now.
