Hot take: I built my shed floor on pavers instead of a concrete slab and I'd do it again
I put up a 10x12 shed in my backyard in Boise last spring and skipped the slab. I set it on 12x12 concrete pavers on a bed of 3/4 inch gravel, one under each corner and every 4 feet along the runners. Cost me about $180 in pavers and gravel versus the $1,400 a slab quote came back at. Two winters in, no settling, the door still swings clean, and I can pull up a paver and add gravel if I ever get a soft spot. The tradeoff is it sits about 4 inches off the ground, so I built a small ramp for the mower. Anyone else skip the slab and regret it later, or is a floating floor the way to go?
