Just found out the hard way that pine shavings from the pet store near me are treated with something that made 3 of my hens sick
I grabbed a bag of pine shavings from the PetSmart on 82nd in Portland because it was cheaper than my usual kiln-dried stuff from the feed store, and within 48 hours three of my girls were wheezing and huddled in the corner, so now I'm driving 20 minutes to the actual farm supply place even though it costs $4 more a bag, has anyone else noticed a weird smell on the pet store bags lately?

Toss that bag and switch back, cheap shavings are soaked in freaking chemicals.
