I finally got my hands on a broody hen from a farm in the next county over.
The owner, an older lady named Marge, handed her to me and said, 'Now you treat her like a queen, she's doing all the hard work for you.' She was right... my Buff Orpington sat on those eggs for 21 days without moving much. All six hatched yesterday, and I'm just in awe of her. What's the longest one of your hens has stayed broody?
