Question about spending $400 on a new crimper set - worth it or not?
I dropped $400 on a nicer DMC crimper set after fighting with cheap ones for years, and it either saved me hours of rework or burned me if the new one doesn't hold up any better in the long run - has anyone else taken that jump and regretted it or felt it was the best money they ever spent?

I get the appeal but $400 on a crimper feels like a lot. The midrange ones around $100-$150 usually do the job just fine without the fancy markup.

Honestly I get where you're coming from but I kinda disagree. I used to think the same way until I actually tried a higher end one at a friend's shop. The cheap ones strip the wire weird and leave burrs that mess up your connection later. Yeah $400 hurts but if you do a lot of crimps it pays for itself in frustration saved. Not saying everyone needs one but calling it just a markup isn't totally fair either.
