I finally figured out that intermittent comms fault on a King Air in Wichita after three days of chasing ghosts.

Turns out a pin in the audio panel connector was backing out just enough to lose contact during turbulence. Anyone else had a headache like that with a D-sub?

Ever had a loose pin in a cannon plug cause a whole system to glitch?

That's a D-sub for you. I've seen that happen on a few different panels, not just audio. Those pins can be a real pain.

I used to think D-subs were pretty solid until I had to re-pin a whole 25-pin connector last week. You're right, they're a total pain.
