Fiber optic terminator vs my old fusion splicer, no contest
Been doing mostly legacy coax work for a decade, finally had to do a full fiber install on a Citation last week. Dusted off the old fusion splicer and struggled for two hours on one connector. Borrowed the shop's new handheld terminator unit and had all 12 cores done in about 40 minutes. The polishing process alone on the old kit was killing my wrists, the new one does it automatically. Has anyone else switched over from fusion to mechanical termination for smaller corporate jets?
