Used to swap intakes without checking fuel trims, now I always hook up the wideband first
Back when I built my old Civic hatch in 2019, I just threw on a Skunk2 intake manifold and called it good. Car ran fine to my ears. Last year I put a similar setup on a friend's Miata and decided to log air/fuel ratios before and after. Turned out the thing was running 12.8:1 at idle, pig rich. Spent an afternoon adjusting with a laptop and a tune file. Runs way smoother now and actually pulls hard. Anyone else learn this lesson the hard way or am I the only dummy that skipped basics?

Learning that exact same lesson with my own turbo build last summer, nothing like watching fuel trims go wild on the laptop screen.
