Put a $22 wing from a junkyard Civic on my wagon as a joke, and now I can't take it off
So about two months back I was walking the rows at a pick and pull outside of Reno and I spotted this beat up Civic with one of those big aluminum wings still bolted to the trunk. I paid $22 for it, mostly because my buddy kept saying my old wagon looked like a appliance. I drilled four holes in the hatch on a Saturday, bolted it on, and figured I would run it for a week and pull it off. Thing is, on my commute down the 395 the back end actually felt planted in a way it never did before, and I started messing with the angle just to see what would happen. I know a wing on a wagon is a goofy look and half the guys at the shop laughed at me, but I ended up swapping in stiffer hatch struts so the extra weight would not slam it shut. Now it has been on there for 10 weeks and I honestly do not want to pull it off, holes in the hatch or not. Anyone here ever slap on a part as a joke and end up keeping it for real?
