Rant: I spent 3 years blaming the carriers when my real problem was how I booked the pickup
I've shipped four cars in the last few years, and up until about 6 months ago I was one of those guys who left 1 star reviews and swore the whole industry was a scam. Then it hit me at 11pm on a Tuesday in my kitchen in Fort Wayne, reading back through my own reviews, that every single complaint of mine was about the carrier changing the pickup window. Not one bad thing about how the car arrived, just the wait. And the reason was me. I was picking the cheapest quote every time and not asking one question about the broker's setup, so I'd get a guy who promised a Tuesday and showed up on Friday. I finally paid 150 bucks more with a company that would actually give me the carrier's name upfront, and the truck pulled in 20 minutes into the window I was given. Whole thing drove me nuts when I figured it out, because I had been mad at the wrong people for years. So now I read reviews looking for whether the person mentions the pickup window and who they booked with, not just the final price. Did anyone else figure out their reviews were really about their own booking habits, not the company?
