I was laying down primer way too dry and blaming the product for the sandy finish, until a guy with 30 years in the trade grabbed my gun and showed me the fluid knob was barely cracked open. Now I'm stuck wondering if chasing that perfect wet coat is worth the runs, or if a slightly pebbled base is just how it goes when you spray in a 100 degree shop. Anybody else get their settings fixed by someone else and feel both dumb and grateful at the same time?
Ever watch a guy who's been doing it for years just tweak one little thing and suddenly everything looks right? Had a similar moment with my table saw fence, thought I needed a new blade the whole time. You're not dumb, you just didn't know what you didn't know yet.
